Q. I selected low quality. Why do my images still take so long to upload? A. When you upload a new image it gets uploaded to our servers just like it is on your computer. The quality is set when you or someone else views the image. If you want your images to upload to our servers faster you may want to scale them down in width and height before you upload them.
Q. How can I upload full size images? A. You can upload full size images by unchecking the resize button on the image upload page.
Q. How can I make my images upload faster? A. If your images are large, scale them down in size with an image editing program before you upload them. For a good free image editing program try
Q. How many folders can I have? A. You can have an unlimitted amount of folders with unlimitted images within a folder. To keep your images as organized as possible try not to put to many images into one folder.
Q. How can I unsubscribe? A. You can easily unsubscribe by going to Account/Preferences and clicking the unsubscribe button. Your account will be close and you will be taken to paypal to cancel your subscription with us.
Q. Why are my images renamed? A. If your filenames on your images are too long they are shortened when uploading them. If you have already uploaded a file with the same name as the one you are currently uploading we assign a 4 digit number to the beginning of your file so that you don't over-write the file that you uploaded before.
Q. What type of files can I host? A. You can host JPG, GIF and PNG files. If you need support for other file types please contact us and we may be able to add support for them.
Q. How do I insert images into a Message Board? A. Message Boards or Forums may use BB Code which is a little different than HTML. You use an [img][/img] or [url][/url]tag.
Example:

or
[url]http://www.myphotolodge.com/imageinfo.jpg[/url]
or use
[url=http://www.myphotolodge.com][img]http://www.myphotolodge.com/imageinfo.jpg[/img][/url]
to create a linkable photo.
Q. I signed up but didn't get my activation email A. After you sign up, you then check the email account you used to sign up with for an activation link. You should receive an email from myphotolodge.com within minutes. If your email account has a spam folder, check there for an email from myphotolodge.com.
If you do not receive the email within 24 hours please use our contact form to make us aware of the situation. Accounts that have not been activated within 30 days will be deleted.
Q. Why Can't I use my link in my MySpace profile? A. Actually, now you can use a link to your photos hosted at MyPhotoLodge in your MySpace profile. Go to the 'image details' and copy the 'non-dynamic' link to your photo. This link will also work in profiles of message boards, blogs and anywhere else that will not accept a dynamic link.
Q. How do I create an image Portfolio? A. Instead of sending many photos in emails to family and friends you can send a link to an image portfolio created with Myphotolodge. Creating an image portfolio is easy.
- Log in to your account.
- Click Create a Portfolio in the right side panel.
- Select the folder from the drop down menu.
- Click Create.
- You will be taken to the 'create portfolio' page where the link to your portfolio was created for this folder.
- Copy and paste your portfolio link into your email, web page or auction.
You can also click the 'view this portfolio' button to preview your portfolio.
